The International Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC) is an international non-governmental, development and relief organisation, working worldwide to alleviate suffering and need and sharing God’s gifts of food, shelter, economic self sufficiency and hope.
With funding from USAID, through Mercy Corps’s Palestinian Community Assistance program (PCAP), IOCC will be implementing a project in Gaza entitled: From Relief to Recovery: Improving Food Security for Vulnerable Families in Gaza. The project will aim at improving food security at household level through the provision of agricultural inputs, technical assistance and job opportunities.
IOCC seek Field Monitors to work in IOCC Office in Gaza Strip.
Job Summary:
The Field Monitor will work under the direction of the IOCC Program Officer and IOCC Senior Field Coordinator in the management, implementation, and supervision and monitoring of IOCC project in the Gaza Strip.
Key Responsibilities:
-Work closely with the IOCC Senior Field Coordinator and Field Coordinators in the implementation of IOCC field activities.
-Supervision and monitoring of site engineers, cash-for-work (CFW) laborers and local partners.
-Provide necessary guidance and technical support to site engineers, CFW laborers and local partners.
-Work closely with IOCC Field Coordinators to ensure proper use and documentation of project monitoring and evaluation forms by partners’ staff.
-Implementation of the assigned duties in accordance and full compliance with IOCC and donor’s rules and regulations.
-Conduct frequent visits to project sites for follow-up and monitoring purposes.
-Submit daily, weekly and monthly reporting to the supervisor(s).
Knowledge and Skills:
-Proper managerial and supervisory skills.
-Adequate social work and community development knowledge.
-Strong organizational skills.
-Ability to work and to communicate effectively with partners and beneficiaries to ensure compliance with IOCC policies and procedures.
-Ability to produce accurate work under tight deadlines.
-Well-developed interpersonal and team skills.
-Detail-oriented.
-Full computer literacy.
-Advanced verbal and written communications skills in Arabic and English (fluency in English is mandatory).
-Valid driving license.
-Ability to work throughout the Gaza Strip.
Experience:
-Experience in field–level project implementation in agriculture and/or construction.
-Two to four years experience with international NGOs is preferred.
Education:
University degree in agricultural or civil engineering. Significant relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
